Sophie Folley Immobilier is an independently owned, fully registered and insured, estate agency in the south Aquitaine region of France. The founders, Sophie Folley and Matthew Burnett, both provide 10 years of valuable experience helping people to buy and sell property in the area. Their depth of knowledge of the local market, and of the buying process, means you can be assured of receiving the very best personalised service and professionalism.
Sophie Folley studied French with business studies at Humberside University. She moved to the Bearn in 2005, has a French husband with a roofing business, and a four year old daughter. She is, therefore, intimately involved in French community life and very well-placed to help with all aspects of settling in to the area, whether it be sourcing local craftsmen and tradesmen or registering children into the local schools.
Prior to his current work, Matthew Burnett worked for French companies, in the paper and packaging industry, for 25 years. He is very familiar with the area having lived here since 1997 and is passionate about local culture, history and rugby!
Working in conjunction with Sophie and Matthew are Stuart Lock and Emilie Marcq.
Stuart arrived in Bayonne in 2014 on a one yesr sabbatical from his teaching career in the UK. So taken was he by the quality of life that he recently decided to extend it indefinitely for him and his ever-growing family. The decision was certainly based on the high quality rugby, and dining options; but also the plethora of family friendly activites available including the easy access to the numerous stunning beaches on the Atlantic coast. Having bought two properties in Bayonne, Stuart is well placed to offer advice on searching for the right property and the buying process on the coast.
Emilie is the French member of the team. She comes from the North of France and moved to the Bearn during the summer of 2014 with her husband and their three children. Emilie has many feathers in her cap : she studied archeology and taught as a school teacher for 5 years. She's also passionate about horses : she graduated from the "Ecole Française des métiers du Cheval" (Fontainebleau). She can offer advice on any agrotourism project in the area.
